Ngenzi & Barahira sentenced to life in prison

 

Tito BARAHIRA and Octavien NGENZI were found guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity.

They were both sentenced to life in prison on July 6, after  a two-month trial at the Paris’ Cour d’Assises. There defenders say they will lodge an appeal.

They are two former mayors of Kabarondo in the former prefecture of  Kibungo (East of Rwanda).

Appeal Trial of Sosthène MUNYEMANA

Sosthène MUNYEMANA was sentenced to 24 years imprisonment at the conclusion of his appeal trial, held between September 16 to October 23, 2025, at the Paris Assize Court. He was found guilty of acts of genocide against Tutsis resulting in their deaths, as well as preparatory acts for the genocide.
